How to Toast Coconut Shreds

Adding a touch of toasted coconut to your Toasted Coconut Salted Caramel Latte will bring a subtle, nutty crunch to each sip—such a special touch.

I think it perfectly complements the salty notes in the salted caramel syrup and salted caramel sauce.

Here’s a simple how-to guide to  toast your coconut shreds:

Ingredients:

  • Unsweetened coconut flakes or shredded coconut

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Spread the Coconut: Spread the unsweetened coconut flakes or shredded coconut in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure the coconut is spread out to allow for even toasting.
  3. Bake to Golden: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and let the coconut toast for about 5-10 minutes. Keep a close eye on the coconut, as it can easily burn. Stir the coconut flakes occasionally to ensure an even toasting process.
  4. Check for Desired Color: The coconut shreds are ready when they turn a golden brown color and have a delicious nutty essence. Quickly remove them from the oven to prevent over-toasting or burning.
  5. Cool and Store: Allow the toasted coconut shreds to cool on the baking sheet before transferring them to an airtight container for storage. Use the toasted coconut shreds as a delicious garnish for your Toasted Coconut Salted Caramel Latte.
